17 CES Marks its 9th Anniversary

The 17 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) Regiment marked its 9th Anniversary on 11 November 2023, together with military formalities and several religious and community-oriented projects.

On the anniversary day, Lieutenant Colonel E.A.D.P Edirisinghe Lsc, Commanding Officer, 17 CES was saluted in a Guard Turnout on arrival at the camp premises at Menik Kanda, Diyatalawa. Afterwards, he joined a sapling planting event and a lunch treat with All Ranks.

Before the anniversary day, several religious programmes, inclusive of ‘Pirith Chanting’, ‘Dhamma’ preaching plus a community-oriented ‘Shramadana’ campaign got underway. Similarly, blessings were also invoked in Church and Kovil compounds in the area. In addition, a cricket match and several sports events added importance to the anniversary.
