As of this morning (06), a total of 869 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 53 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 816 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 98 from Kalutara District, 97 from Nuwara Eliya District, 83 from Gampaha District and 538 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (06), a total of 266,498 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 159,299 were reported after the New Year.
By Tuesday (6) morning (past 24 hours), 1,625 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 04 July, 32 deaths have been reported including 18 males and 14 females.
By Tuesday (6) morning, 664 persons have left 18 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (6), 6,177 persons in 78 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
The latest GN Division that came under isolation this morning (6) were Narathenei (North- west) GN Division in Kayts Police Division in Jaffna District and Malabada watta of Puhabugoda - East GN Division in Dodangoda Police Division in Kalutara District.
By this morning (6), Eravur 2 GN Division in Eravur Police Division in Batticaloa District was completely released from isolation.
