The Inter Regiment Wrestling Tournament - 2023 got underway at Panagoda Army indoor stadium during 25 - 28 May with the participation of regimental wrestlers.
150 wrestlers, both men and women representing various regiments of the Sri Lanka Army participated in the event.
In the men’s category, the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment won the championship while the Sri Lanka Engineers team was pushed to be the runner-up. In the novices' category, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment team secured the championship and Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment team won the runner-up slot.
In the women’s category, Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps team won the championship while the Sri Lanka Engineers team became the runner-up
Major General S.A Kulathunga RWP RSPUSP psc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division and Chairman of Army Wrestling Committee witnessed the final rounds and awarded certificates to the winners and participants as the chief guest on 28 May.
Senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.
