Troops of the 15 Drone Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) of the 142 Infantry Brigade under the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-West demonstrated their commitment to serve the community by volunteering to renovate the alms hall (‘Daana Shala’) for the monks at ‘Sri Punyaloka' temple in Watareka, Meegoda at the request of the Chief Incumbent.
The project was carried out by the 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery troops on the directions of the Commanding Officer during 21 - 30 June 2023 under the supervision of the Commander, 142 Infantry Brigade and the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division.
Troops accordingly renovated and colourwashed the entire alms hall of the temple and gave it a facelift. Towards the end of the project, troops cleaned the surroundings around the ‘Bodhiya’ and the temple.
