The 14th commemoration of the fallen war heroes took place on 17 July 2024 at Mullaitivu Camp War Memorial, honouring those who sacrificed their lives during the Mullaitivu attack on 18 July 1996.
Under the directions of Major General W.P.A.D.W. Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), the troops of the SLSR organised the event.
Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Force (Wanni), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and honoured the fallen heroes by lighting the eternal flame at the monument, placing a floral wreath, and saluting the statue in a solemn moment.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and family members also paid their respects, concluding the ceremony in a solemn and respectful manner.
