2 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 144 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-West on Sunday (26 February) extending their hand of friendship completely cleaned up the Kithsirimewan Rajamaha Viharaya premises and the monks' residential quarters (Aawasageya).
During this 'Shramadana' role in the temple, situated in the Kelanimulla Grama Niladari Division, a group of 11 Army personnel, including one Officer attended to the removal of garbage, cleaning of statues and all other relevant places, including the residential monastery of the monks in response to a request, made by the temple.
The Commander, 144 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry closely supervised the project in consultation with the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Division.
