16 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops of the 143 Infantry Brigade troops of 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ - West (SFHQ-West) entertained 307 school students at Thevanuvara Mailankulam School in Puttalam district to a special meal, games and Calypso music on account of the International Children’s day on Monday (02 Oct).
The children were educated on different aspects of games, singing and dancing while the teachers also joined displaying their artistic talents.
Social carers of the Puttalam District, including Mr Y.M Rizvi, Mr F.M Naushad, and Mr Nazmy Abdeen, arranged a special sponsorship by way of providing Rs. 50,000/= worth exercise books and educational accessories.
The event was organized under the guidance of the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 16 GR who participated as Chief Guests of the day. The Commander, SF-West and the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division provided the necessary guidelines. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in the event.
