While showcasing their unwavering commitment to the public safety by actively participating in another community-oriented project, Army troops in the Sector 8 of the 142 Infantry Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - West launched a Dengue prevention campaign in Piliyandala area during 3 - 5 August 2023.
This project, organized by the respective MOH Office was aimed at combatting the fast rising threat of Dengue epidemic. Accordingly, the Army personnel cooperated actively with Public Health Inspectors (PHI) and Police personnel, displaying their determination to protect the community.
Their primary responsibilities included raising awareness among the community about the importance of maintaining a clean environment, conducting inspections to identify potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes, and assisting in the removal of stagnant water sources.
With the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces - West, this life-saving drive was carried out under the close supervision of the 142 Infantry Brigade Commander and the Commander in Sector 8.
