Following an invitation received from the Sri Gnana Wimala Dhamma School at Gangula Panadura to Sri Lanka Army, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 14 Infantry Division, Major General Roshan Jayamanna graced the Prefects’ Badge Awarding Ceremony at this school as the Chief Guest on 19 February 2023.
60 prefects and around 110 class monitors of the Sri Gnana Wimala Dhamma School, Gangula Panadura, received their insignias during this ceremony. Afterwards, Major General Roshan Jayamanna made a brief address to the gathering regarding leadership and future challenges. The General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by the students and the staff of the school on arrival there.
Several members of the Maha Sangha, staffers at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and school staff attended the day’s event.
