Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on the instructions of the Ministry of Defence and the Army Headquarters actively contributed to a 3-day Dengue prevention campaign during 11-13 August in coordination with the National Dengue Control Unit workers of the Health Ministry.
The team carefully inspected home compounds, drains, garbage collecting areas and other covered areas for possible mosquito-breeding places in Gampaha, Colombo and Kalutara and their suburbs.
On the instructions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces (SF) - West, 196 other ranks of the 14 and 58 Divisions (SFHQ-West) conducted the programme with the assistance of Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in the area.
