13,831 PCR Tests Conducted on Monday (7)-NOCPCO

As of this morning (8), a total of 703 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them are locally-identified affectees. Of those persons, 371 are from Colombo, 102 from Gampaha, 64 from Kalutara and others are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (8), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 25,021. Meanwhile, 17,396 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (21,962) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (7), a total of 28,579 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 20,803 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,634 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (8), 344 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 142 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 02 deaths were from Colombo and Colombo 13 areas.

By this morning (8), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 40 passengers, the flight UL 202 from Bahrain with 288 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 108 passengers have arrived in Colombo. Within today (8), the flight EY 264 from Abhu Dhabi with 54 passengers , the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 34 passengers, the flight UL 504 from UK with 56 passengers and the flight UL 196 from India with 28 passengers are expected to land here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport. As of this morning (8), 6,878 persons in 64 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (7), 13,831 PCR tests were carried out. Best Sneakers | Nike for Men
