128 Sri Lankan Troops to Participate in ‘Mitra Shakthi Exercise 9’ in India

The Sri Lankan Army delegation headed by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff and Major General K.P.S.A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, Director General Infantry, participated in the final planning conference for the forthcoming ‘Mitra Shakthi Exercise 9’ at the Indian Army’s 330 Infantry Brigade HQ in Pune, India during 19-21 October.

A group of 35 Officers and 93 Other Ranks from the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka are expected to joined the exercise in India.

During the discussions, both parties took up important matters pertaining to the conduct of the ‘Mitra Shakthi Exercise 9’, scheduled to commence from 16 November to 29 November in India.

The Exercise ‘Mitra Shakthi’ is an annual Joint Training Exercise spearheaded jointly by the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Army since the year 2012. The Exercise was previously conducted with the participation of two Infantry Companies from both sides.

Major General P.G.P.S Rathnayake RWP RSP ndc General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division and Brigadier P.K.S Nandana RSP USP psc also participated in the discussions.
