As of this morning (09), a total of 1270 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 47 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 1223 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 229 from Gampaha District, 180 from Kalutara District, 137 from Colombo District and 677 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (09), a total of 269,945 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 162,541 were reported after the New Year.
By Friday (9) morning (past 24 hours), 1,453 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 07 July, 40 deaths have been reported including 29 males and 11 females.
By Friday (9) morning, 702 persons have left 24 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (9), 5,572 persons in 79 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
By this morning (9), Pimbura section of Kekulandala south GN Division in Agalawatta Police Division in Kalutara district were immediately isolated.
Meanwhile, Western areas of Talai Mannar GN Division, East Pier of Talai Mannar GN in Talai Mannar Police Division in Mannar district and Hinguloya and Mahawatta GN Divisions in Mawanella Poilice Division in Kegalle District were completely released from isolation.
