1212 More Quarantined Persons Set to Leave for Home-NOCPCO

Six more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (24). Among them were an expatriate from Kenya in quarantine at Negambo Hospital QC, three more expatriates from UAE in quarantine at Boossa QC (1), Eden Garden Hotel QC (2) and two more expatriates from Malayasia in quarantine in Passara UDMI QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The total number of infected detainees as of 6.00 am today (24) at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu stands at 629. Of them, 508 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 20 passengers and the flight 6E 0191 from Ameedabadh - India with 65 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.

By this morning (24), 1212 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 10 persons are from Nipuna Bossa QC, 18 persons from Mihinthale QC, 26 from Club Dolphin Hotel QC, 43 from Jetwin Beach QC, 1 from Biyagama village QC, 15 from Bacon Beach Hotel QC, 79 from Army Service Corps QC, 260 from Eden Garden Hotel QC, 31 from Blue Waters Hotel QC, 255 Eco Surf QC, 142 from Kosgoda Sheraton QC, 178 from Koggala Beach Hotel QC and 154 from Ayurveda QC at Rajagiriya are expected to leave for their homes.

To-date, 31,541 individuals after completion of the Quarantine Process have left for their homes. Likewise, 7620 persons in 58 Tri-service -managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (23), 1610 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 205,707.

Meanwhile, 07 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (24). Two of them were expatriates and the remaining five were among those associated with individuals in the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre. Accordingly, 602 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have so far left.
