On information received by Military Intelligence troops of the 12 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen), 121 Brigade troops and Kuda Oya Policemen on Sunday (11) raided a Cannabis (Ganja) cultivation in the general area of Kotiyakandura in Kuda Oya.
The illegal crop cultivation, grown in about 2 acres of land amid bushes has been done secretly inside jungle areas where there were about 10,000 saplings. Kuda Oya Police are conducting investigations and pursuing necessary action.
On the guidelines given by Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division and Colonel Udaya Serasinghe, Commander, 121 Brigade, troops carried out the task.
