Troops of the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 121 Brigade of the 12 Division under command to the Security Force HQ - Central (SFHQ-Cen) in line with the island-wide project, implemented as per the directions of the Commander of the Army erected one more house to a needy family in the Sella Kataragama area and left it in their custody on Saturday (20) during a simple ceremony.
Philanthropists and donors patronized the cost of raw materials after the troops volunteered to build this house considering the recipient’s pathetic living conditions with his family members. Mr Nilantha Pradeep Kumara with his family members was the beneficiary. Troops with their technical and engineering skills and the donors’ support erected the house within a few weeks.
Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division attended the warming ceremony and delivered the keys to the new house, adhering to health guidelines.
