The financial assistance provided by the philanthropist, Attorney at Law Mr. Rasika Dissanayake, enabled the 121 Brigade troops of the 12 Division HQ in Hambantota to gift 107 students in the Wattegama Sirimal Junior School in Moneragala with essentials for schooling in the New Year.
Selecting underprivileged and most deserving students at the above school in Monaragala, the brief ceremony to give away those accessories took place on Saturday (18) at the school premises. Through the coordination of the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Division, Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, the arrangement was made a reality with the good offices of Brigadier Udaya Serasinghe, Commander, 121Brigade.
The relief pack of essentials contained pairs of school shoes, school bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, exercise books, text books, A-4 papers, other stationeries and some technical items. The principal, parents, teachers and students joined the occasion.
