121 Brigade Troops Assist Civilians with Eye &;amp; Chest Clinics

12 Division, together with 121 Brigade troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) assisted the conduct of an Eye and Cardiac clinic during April 4-5 at Madulla Divisional Secretariat and Siyambalanduwa Pallewela Secondary School for patients with eye and chest ailments in the Moneragala District.

The first Medical Clinic was held on April 4 at Madulla Divisional Secretariat which was attended by more than 1000 patients. During the clinic, a total of 200 reading glasses were distributed among the needy after examinations.

The second Medical Clinic was held on April 5 at Siyambalanduwa Pallewela Secondary School where more than 400 patients were treated. During the clinic, clothes and school items were also donated among civilians and children of poor families.

The clinics were organized by medical officers of the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital and ‘Jayagrahanaya’ Foundation.

Doctors, nurses at Sri Jayawardenepura General Hospital and members of the ‘Jayagrahanaya’ Foundation, led by Consultant Physician Dr. Anula Wijesundara provided medical consultations to both arrangements.

Brigadier W.A.N.M. Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, Commander, 121 Brigade, Senior Officers and officers were present throughout the conduct of those two community projects.
