The 121 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) celebrated its 2nd anniversary with a series of programmes during 07-09 January under the directions of Colonel B.M.J. Balasooriya, Commander, 121 Brigade.
The anniversary programmes kicked off with a special Pooja held at Kataragama Devalaya, invoking blessings on Army personnel.
On 9 January, the military leg of the anniversary commenced with a Guard Turnout, saluting Colonel Balasooriya, followed by the troop address and planting of a tree sapling.
The newly-constructed Brigade Headquarters entrance together with the guard room was opened by Major General G.R.H. Dias, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division. Also, the new clock tower of the 121 Brigade was opened by Colonel Balasooriya at the same occasion.
An all-rank get-together in the evening ended anniversary programmes.
