In a commendable display of civic responsibility and humanitarian service, the 12th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard successfully organized a blood donation programme on 09 June 2025.
The initiative was carried out under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana USAWC psc, and closely supervised by the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division. This programme was part of the broader civil-military cooperation efforts aimed at strengthening ties between the military and the civilian population in the Eastern theatre.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of both military personnel and civilians, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting the healthcare needs of the region. The collected blood units are expected to contribute significantly to the regional blood bank supplies, aiding patients in urgent need of transfusions.
