12 Infantry Division troops under the Security Force HQ - Central (SFHQ-Cen) on request initiated a handball training programme for students at Debarawewa National School at Hambantota after introducing sport.
Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division on Tuesday (9) morning at the school playground commenced the training workshop and its introduction with the support of Army handball players.
145 sport-loving students in the school joined the training project with enthusiasm amid cheers and applause.
Colonel General Staff of the 12 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Army Instructors supervised the session and the Principal with the tutorial staff were present at the inauguration of the event which lasted for about 5 hours in the playground.
