12 Infantry Division Troops Ensure Security and Support for Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera

Troops from the 12 Infantry Division in coordination with the Police, provided security for the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera, which was held from 6 July 2024 to 22 July 2024 in sacred Kataragama.

Under the directions of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 12 Infantry Division, and with close supervision from Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders, the troops continuously ensured the safety of devotees, provided medical aid, and managed the main task of the Kataragama Devalaya Dansala. They prepared three meals daily for approximately 20,000 devotees from 6 July 2024 to 21 July 2024.
