12 Infantry Division Awards School Accessories to Students at Bundala Kanishta Vidyalaya

Troops of the 12 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Central on account of the ‘Vesak’ season carried out a distribution of school accessories among 59 needy school children in Bundala Kanishta Vidyalaya, Hambanthota on 04 May.

Major General P.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division graced the occasion in the school premises as the chief guest.

Mrs Nilanthi Ponnamperuma and Mr Chaminda Ponnamperuma, overseas-based Old Pupils of Dharmapala College Pannipitiya provided sponsorship for this project through the coordination of the General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division.

23 Gajaba Regiment troops of the 122 Infantry Brigade organized preparations and each student got Rs 2500/= worth of school accessories including books, pens, pencils, stationery, etc during the arrangement.

The Colonel General Staff of the 12 Division, Civil Affairs Officer, Commanding Officer of 23 Gajaba Regiment, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and school staff participated in the event.
