Troops of the 12 Division of the Security Force HQ-Central with sponsorship received from a private donor took steps to buy uniform cloths for a total of 475 students at Moneragala Detagamuwa Primary school after their economic hardships were brought to the notice of the troops by respective GramaSeva officials and school authorities.
The sponsorship of ‘Sithmina’ Construction Private Ltd enabled the troops on 6 December to distribute those incentives after visiting the school premises.
Troops of 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (3SLNG) on the directions of Major General Mihindu Perera, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division with the Commanding Officer of 3 Sri Lanka National Guard launched the project.
The General Officer Commanding, 12 Division graced the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest and a special lunch was served to all 475 students, teachers and members of the non-academic staff.
The Principal, 12 representatives of the sponsoring company, parents of students and 3 SLNG troops participated in the event.
