12 Division troops of the Security Force HQ-Central on a tip-off stormed a Cannabis cultivation in the general area of Aluthwela on Saturday (02) and found the thriving cultivation had some 30,000 Cannabis saplings.
The raid was done on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, and the operation was closely supervised by the Commander of the 121 Brigade, Brigadier Udaya Serasinghe. 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops as instructed by their Commanding Officer conducted the raid.
The Kuda Oya Police Station was informed of the raid. No suspects were however arrested.
