110 New SLSR Recruits Pass Out at Ambepussa

One hundred and ten new recruits of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Headquarters at Ambepussa during a military parade passed out on Tuesday (5) upon successful completion of their six-month long training.

Colonel of the SLSR Regiment and Commander, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General D. R. A. B. Jayatillake, Commandant, SLSR Headquarters, Brigadier A. M. R. Dharmasiri and Lieutenant Colonel U. D. Wijesekara, Staff Officer I at Directorate of Staff Duties graced the occasion as distinguished guests.

A Guard Turnout, accorded by soldiers in the SLSR training unit greeted Lieutenant Colonel U. D. Wijesekara who attended the ceremony as Chief Guest of the day. The Chief Guest also awarded colours to the new soldiers in the 58th SLSR passing out parade at the end of the military ceremony.

A large gathering of senior officers, spouses, parents and relatives of the soldiers witnessed the day’s events.
