11 Sri Lanka National Guard troops of the 241 Brigade under the 24 Division of the Security Force HQ-East on account of Poson Poya day provided free refreshments to the devotees and joined a 'Bodhi Pooja' programme on Poson Full Moon Poya day (14).
Two 'Dansel' (free distribution) of Corriander water and Belimal respectively at Sri Shailathalarama Temple, Neeththa in Ampara and in front of the Eragama Army Camp who came to worship the Deegawapiya Temple were held by troops with the objective of quenching the thirst of those devotees attending religious performances.
A few more than 2500 devotees enjoyed Belimal drink near the Deegawapiya arrangement. The Bodhi Pooja Pinkama at Shailathalarama Temple, in Neeththa was joined by a large gathering of troops and the laity alike, in which fallen War Heroes were transferred merits. The Chief Incumbent at Sri Shailathalarama Temple, Neeththa delivered a valuable Dhamma sermon and commended the role of the troops in the area.
