A foundation stone-laying ceremony for a new shrine room at the Samiddhi Sumana temple in Nawatkuli commenced on Saturday (13 January), with the presence of Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, as the chief guest of the ceremony.
Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division, took the initiative to begin the project, and 11 Sri Lanka Engineers (11 SLE) troops will carry out the construction under the supervision of the Overlooking Commander of 523 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 11 SLE.
Mrs. Nushaka Kumari Dharmakeerthi, the Honorable Chief Judge of Ampara District, will provide the necessary monetary assistance for the project. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and a crowd of devotees were present during the ceremony.
