11 More Deaths Reported-NOCPCO

As of this morning (7), a total of 1895 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 44 Sri Lankan expatriates and 1851 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 326 from Colombo District, 309 from Kalutara District, 273 from Gampaha District, and 943 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (7), a total of 90,637 persons, inclusive of the fish market and Minuwangoda cluster and 26,862 others have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 98,923 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the affected rest of 20,843 after the New Year are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

By Wednesday (7) morning, 119,423 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the country and 100,885 of them after recovery have left hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 810 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. 11 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 745 by this morning (7). As of this morning (7), 6,705 persons in 74 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (7), at the time this communique was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged.
