11 Infantry Division troops showing their concern for human welfare erected a new house for a needy family in Galdhanda, Welimada area with sponsorship provided by General Deshamanya J.E Denis Perera VSV ndc psc, one of the former Army Commander’s family, under the coordination of Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division. The new house was vested in the beneficiary on 15 April 2024 during a brief ceremony.
The General Officer Commanding of 11 Infantry Division took the initiative to complete this house using technical skills and manpower assistance given by troops of 17 Engineer Services Regiment, 8 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps for the construction work.
During the warming ceremony, the house keys were symbolically handed over to the beneficiary by the Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
