Responding positively to a humanitarian request, 10 Gajaba Regiment and 2 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 11 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Central following guidance given by the Commander of the Army erected four new houses for four deserving families in Aruppola, Kandy and vested them in the beneficiaries on 17 October during separate ceremonies.
Most Venerable Warakagoda Dhammasiddhi Sri Pagnananda Gnanarathanabidhana Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter sought the technical and engineering skills of the soldiers for construction of those 4 houses contacting the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu as the Maha Nayake Thero was prepared to sponsor the cost of raw materials.
Troops of the Corps of Engineer Service Regiment, attached to the 11 Infantry Division, together with 10 Gajaba Regiment, and 2 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops accordingly carried out the construction of those four new houses in Aruppola area in four separater places.
The General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, Brigade Commander, 111 Infantry Brigade and their respective Commanding Officers within a few weeks brought the entire project to a successful culmination with the support of 10 Gajaba Regiment and 2 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops.
Most Ven Sri Pagnananda Gnanarathanabidhana Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter, Major General R.M.M Ranasinghe General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, Brigadier W.M.S.N Eragoda RWP RSP USP, Brigade Commander, 111 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and governmental officials attended the house-warming ceremonies.
