71 low-income families living in Owilkanda area in Matale were the recipients of dry rations and school accessories, organized by troops of the 11 Infantry Division on account of the ‘Poson’ Poya day (3 June).
Few philanthropists of the area sponsored the consignment of those relief items and school accessories, each pack worth about Rs 5000/=.
Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 11 Infantry Division symbolically inaugurated the project by taking a couple of those gift parcels to several doorsteps of the beneficiaries.
Senior Officers and Other Ranks afterwards carried those incentives to each family and handed them over accordingly.
