11 Infantry Division held a traditional New Year festival to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 18 April 2024 at the 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps premises with the participation of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 11 Infantry Division and their family members.
Major General R.M.M Ranasinghe WWV RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 11 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The event featured a number of traditional and fun games, including eye-placing on the elephant, lime balancing, bun-eating, obstacle race, cadjan weaving, pillow fights, breaking the pot, tug of war, and more.
At the end of the festival, GOC and several Senior Officers gave away gifts and trophies to the winners in different events and competitions.
