Major General R.M.M Ranasinghe WWV RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division Headquarters made his maiden official visit to the 112 Infantry Brigade camp as well as to the 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps unit camp on 12 December 2023.
The visiting General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by Brigadier W.M.L.S Dayawansha, the Brigade Commander, 112 Infantry Brigade before he addressed the troops.
Afterwards, the General Officer Commanding visited the 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps camp where he warmed the newly-constructed prefab building, inclusive of a wash room area for Other Ranks plus the inauguration of the new water purifying machine.
He also spoke to the troops and set out his vision for the 11 Division area. The visiting General Officer Commanding was also invited to plant a Mango sapling in the 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps camp compound as a symbol of memory.
