Major General P.S.Kalpa Sanjeewa of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on Thursday (16) assumed Office as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Division in Kundasale under command to the Security Force HQ -Central.
Troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment awarded military honours including a Guard Turnout to the newly-appointed GOC at the entrance to the Divisional headquarters.
Afterwards, Major General Sanjeewa signed a document to signify the official acceptance of the new appointment amid religious blessings.
After the assumption of the new Office, the GOC. addressed Officers and Other Ranks of the Divisional headquarters and explained his vision.
He succeeds Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, who has been assigned as the Commander of the Security Forces West.
