11 Division troops were generous enough to offer refreshments (Gilanpasa) to a delegation of Thai Buddhist monks and nuns who are currently on a mission to Sri Lanka with the intention of praying peace for the people of Sri Lanka.
During their expedition, continuing on foot paid homage to Sri Dalada Maligawa and several other religious places in Kandy area during April 4 - 6.
During their journey, in the general areas of Thennekumbura, 11 Division troops showing their respect and hospitality towards the visiting Buddhist delegation offered a ‘Gilanpasa’ treat at Sri Sudarshanaramaya temple in Thennekumbura where General Officer Commanding, 11 Division, Major General Nisshanka Ranawana was also present.
