Troops in the Kandy based 11 Division serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) have offered their assistance for smooth conduct of the festival.
On the instructions given by the Commander, Security Forces-Central (SF-C), General Officer Commanding in the 11 Division provided manpower to attend to preparations as advised by Maligawa authorities.
On Wednesday (10), troops in 5 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) cooked and packed meals for the Paththini Devalaya at their request and 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) assisted to cook meals for traditional dancers and other participants at Kataragama Devalaya Perahera.
