11 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) organized a series of religious activities, together with the SFHQ-Central following the conceptual guidance given by Major General Mohan Ratthnayake, Commander SF-Cen and Major General Rohitha Aluvihare, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division during 30 -31 March at Mahiyanganaya Raja Maha Vihara temple premises.
On Friday (Mar 30), troops conducted a 'Bodhi Pooja' and listened to a Damma oration before members of the Maha Sangha conducted a Pirith chanting ceremony. Troops next day prepared breakfast (‘Heel Daana’) for the members of Maha Sangha at Mahiyanganaya Temple and offered it after conduct of the Buddha Pooja.
Commander SF-Cen, GOC of the 11 Infantry Division together with more than 50 Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in those events to transfer merits to fallen war heroes and invoke blessings on serving troops.
