102 More War Heroes Gifted With New Houses Under 'Api Wenuwen Api' Project

 
Making another record phase in the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ housing projects for war heroes, HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, flanked by a host of distinguished guests,  handed over 102 newly built houses to tri-service heroes at a ceremony in Poramadulla, Nuwara Eliya on Sunday (18) morning.

These houses built with ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ funds of the Ministry of Defence are a tribute being extended to the excellence services, rendered by tri- service war heroes for the liberation of the country from terrorism.

57 houses for Army, 27 houses for Navy and 18 houses for Air Force, thus built in respective own lands of those war heroes, resident in Nuwara Eliya district are all situated in areas, like Poramadulla and Haguranketha in the same district.

HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, symbolically handed over the keys to three houses at Poramadulla Jonstan Estate before the remainder was distributed at the ceremony in Poramadulla National School. Each house is valued at Rs 3.5 million and “Api Wenuwen Api” funded the construction.

Secretary to the President Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Central Province Governor Mr. Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Chief Minister, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Navy Commander, Air Force Commander, Inspector General of the Police, spouses and a large gathering of people were present at the ceremony.
