101 Locals & 10 Expatriates Confirmed Positive - NOCPCO

As of this morning (6), 111 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19. Among them, 101 persons were locally identified from Minuwagoda area, associates in the garment factory and 10 others were those who arrived from overseas. Those expatriates are from Dubai (03) at Mulankawil QC, Six (6) seafarers at Mulankavil, Suriya Resort, Biyagama Village and Beraiya hotel QC, three (3) expatriates from Qatar at Pelwehera QC and one (1) Seafarer from Red Sea at Habaraduwa QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (6), the total number of COVID19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda Garment factory is 101. Of them, 69 are staff members and a total of 32 are staff members on leave.

Meanwhile, all 650 persons at Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre were fully recovered and discharged vacating the premises.

The flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 11 passengers, the flight QR 668 and UL 218 from Doha with 52 passengers and the flight EK 4930 from Isthanbul, Turkey with 260 passengers have arrived in Colombo. All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (6), 294 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 02 persons are from Jetwing Sea QC, 04 from Jetwing Beach QC, 15 from Jetwing Lagoon QC, 22 from Rani Beach Hotel QC, 19 from Hotel Dolphin QC, 74 from Ruwanweli Hotel, 14 from Rajagiriya QC, 123 from Damminna OC, 20 from Diyatalawa QC and one from Pallekele QC.

Likewise, 49,003 individuals by this morning (6) have been sent back home after quarantining. As of this morning (6), 7211 persons in 79 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (5), 700 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 296,611.

By 6.00 this morning (6), 02 fully recovered COVID-19 affected persons went back to their homes from hospitals. All of them are expatriates. The total number of fully-recovered detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 650. (Ends).Adidas footwear | nike
