The troops of 10 (V) Gemunu Watch (GW) organized a school accessories donation program benefiting 36 students who demonstrated excellence in the 2023 GCE (O/L) and Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. The event took place at 10 (V) GW Headquarters premises in Sirinathakulam, Mannar on 27 January. Major General K.M.P.S.B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
This charity effort was made possible through the generous financial contributions of Mr. Asela Wijesinghe, Mr. Thimal Thennakoon, Mr. Suresh, Mr. Sunanda Obeysekara and Mr. Sumudu Gunewardena old pupils of Ananda College Colombo. Their philanthropic support enabled the creation of gift packs, each consisting of a pair of shoes, school bags, exercise books and other essential school stationery.
Commander, 541 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, officials of Zonal Education Office Madu participated in the event.
