10 More Arrivals Confirmed Positive to COVID-19 - NOCPCO

As of this morning (04), 10 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 epidemic. Those 10 expatriates and foreigners were 2 from India in quarantine at Norochchol QC, 3 from Kuwait, 2 in quarantine at Mulankavil QC and at Rajagiriya Ayurveda QC and 5 from Qatar in quarantine at Vidaththapalai QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 am this morning (04), the total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight EK 648 from Dubai with 08 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 96 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Narita-Japan with 17 passengers and flight 6E 9036 from Chennai with 48 passengers arrived in Colombo and the flight UL 1208 from Italy will arrive today (4) in Colombo and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (04), 142 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 40 persons are from Punani QC, 22 persons from Hotel Dolphin QC, 11 persons from Hotel Jetwing-C QC, 3 persons from Ayurveda Hotel Jetwing QC, 44 persons from Mt Lavinia Hotel QC, 01 person from Baken Beach QC, 01 person from Hotel paradise QC, 11 from Nipuna Boossa QC and 09 persons from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC.

Likewise, 36,326 individuals by this morning (04) have been sent back home after quarantining. 7,746 persons in 73 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (02), 2050 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 232,710.

Meanwhile, 06 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (03). All of them were expatriates. Accordingly, 626 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.
