Troops of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (1 SLNG) of the 143 Infantry Brigade under the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-West arranged a lunch treat for 60 selected students studying in three schools in Kurunegala area on Wednesday (Jan 18).
Altogether, 60 students from Siyambalewa Sri Sobitha Primary School, Thambarawa Primary School and Gallegoda Primary School were provided with this lunch with the help of donations, provided by 1 SLNG troops, civilian supporters around the area and with local available cereals.
Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West, together with Major General Roshan Jayamanna, General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division, provided much-needed guidance to the success of the treat.
All the arrangements for these community projects were coordinated under the close supervision of Brigadier Faumie Kitchilan, Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and Major K.A.S.P Kumara, Commanding Officer, 1 SLNG.
