The 10th ‘Haritha Niyamuwo’ project, meant to improve knowledge on agriculture and leadership development got underway on Saturday (1 July 2023) at Wariyapola Wayamba Training Institute in collaboration with the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 143 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-West.
Accordingly, 71 students from both Wellawa Central College and Kumbukgahamulla Sri Bodhi Central College participated in this awareness workshop where 1 SLNG contributed to the project by providing physical training instructors and leadership trainers for the sessions, both theoretical and practical.
The Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard closely monitored the Army's contribution to this programme on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division and Commander, Security Forces-West.
