1 SLAWC Completes 41 Years

Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) Training School at Kaluaggala-established new facility centre in the premises, fulfilling a long-felt need was declared open on 01 September by Major General Prasanna Chandrasekara, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps in the presence of Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake, Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps.

The opening coincided with the 41st anniversary of the 1st Battalion Sri lanka Army Women's Corps on 1 September 2020, in order to enhance facilities of trainees who are undergoing training at this training school.

Religious observances, held at Bellanwila Raja MahaViharaya invoked blessings on the Corps and transferred merits to was heroines who paid the supreme sacrifice while protecting our mother Nation. The Commanding Officer, Major D. C. N Bombuwala was honoured in a parade on the anniversary day in keeping with military formalities.
