1 SLAGSC Panaluwa Detachment to Encourage Use of Organic Fertilizer

Troops of 1 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) implementing the government’s policy of encouraging organic fertilizer production process in the region has recently started a project to that effect inside its Panaluwa detachment.

This ongoing project, initiated under the guidance of Major General Kumara Handunmulla, Colonel Commandant SLAGSC and Lieutenant Colonel C.S Demuni, Commanding Officer, 1 SLAGSC is now in progress. Capt H.J.C Kumara of 1 SLAGSC coordinates the project.

This project expects to improve community awareness on the advantages of organic fertilizer in the area by providing technical support to local farmers for the production of their own organic fertilizer once the Panaluwa production project is proved a success.
