The 1 Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW) at Diyatalawa improvised a colonial building in its camp premises and completely renovated it to serve as the Conference Hall of the 1 Battalion of the Gemunu Watch before it was formally opened by Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, Colonel of the Regiment, GW and the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on Saturday (18).
This ancient building with colonial architecture was earlier used as the intelligence office of the camp with limited space for conference requirements. On an initiative of the Colonel of the Regiment, steps were taken by the Commanding Officer, 1 GW, Major Y.R.I Dissanayake to convert the entire building with no damage to its original design before the entire unit was renovated for use as a conference hall.
The simple opening ceremony, held in line with health practices was attended by Major General T.S Bangsajayah as the Chief Guest, together with the Commanding Officer, 1 GW, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks. Running Sneakers Store | Men’s shoes
