The ‘Stamina Spartans competition’, successfully concluded on 07 April 2024 at Headquarters 1 Corps, during a brief ceremony. The aim of this competition was to enhance fitness, endurance, self-confidence and team spirit of soldiers serving under 53 and 58 Infantry Divisions.
A total of 16 teams participated in the competition, showcasing their physical agility and fitness. Among them, the 5 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment emerged as the champions, demonstrating exceptional prowess and teamwork. The 1st Runners Up title was secured by the 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, while the 2nd Runners Up position was earned by the 9 Gemunu Watch.
Major General S.B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of 1 Corps graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers witnessed the occasion.
