The 1 Corps of Engineer Service and the Security Forces - West renovated an abandoned building at De Zoysa Maternity Hospital in Borella at the request of the hospital authorities.
The renovation process started with the contribution of SF-West troops and Garrison Engineer troops in Narahenpita and completed the process within a short period.
These newly-constructed wards in the renovated building have been converted to treat COVID-19 affected patients. The formal handover after renovation to hospital’s medical staff took place on Thursday (16).
