‘Golden Hits’ Reverberate to Collect Funds for SLSR

Golden Hits of 1970s, sung by Annesly Malawana & Korin Almeda reverberated in the ‘Sing Along’ concert, held at Grandeeza Hotel in Negombo on Sunday (21) in order to raise funds for multiple welfare projects of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army at the invitation of Major General Kumudu Perera, Deputy Chief of Staff & Colonel of the Regiment, SLSR graced the entertainment as the Chief Guest.

Organized by the SLSR - Seva Vanitha Unit, the funds raised by this event and also from the annual ‘Sinha Mela’ carnival are specifically used for construction of houses, provision of medical assistance, grant of scholarships and accessories, wheelchairs, stretches, educational programmes and for counselling projects, etc. Mrs Shiromi Masakorala, Chairperson, SLSR - Seva Vanitha Unit who was instrumental in organizing the event attended the occasion, together with a group of senior Seva Vanitha ladies.

Major General Kumudu Perera welcomed the Commander of the Army on arrival at the venue. A large gathering of music fans including those from Negombo area enjoyed the evening. Air tickets to Malaysia, Singapore and Bangkok were also awarded to three winners in a raffle draw during the same occasion.
